If you’ve been keeping an eye on the electric truck segment, you already know the GMC Sierra EV has been turning heads since it arrived. But what’s new for 2026 in this electric pickup? This year, the Sierra EV expands on everything that made it compelling in the first place, from range and performance to technology and trim options.

For drivers in Henderson, Nevada, who want the capability of a full-size pickup without the gas station stops, the 2026 Sierra EV stands ready.

A Lineup Built for Every Kind of Truck Driver

The GMC Sierra EV’s best new features is its expanded lineup of trims, each designed for a distinct type of driver—and the differences go well beyond cosmetics.

The Elevation trim comes standard with a 2-motor e4WD system, up to 410 miles of range, Best-In-Class 605 hp, and a 16.8” Premium GMC Infotainment System with Google built-in. This entry-level trim welcomes you with a heated, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar and a heated steering wheel.

The off-road-ready AT4 trim dominates any landscape with 35” all-terrain tires, a factory lift, red recovery hooks, and 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk®. Super Cruise® hands-free driver assistance technology is included, along with a 14” multicolor Head-Up Display. It offers an available Max Range Battery Pack that lets you drive 478 miles on a single charge.

The luxurious Denali boasts distinctive 22” wheels with Ultrabright Machining, laser-etched Denali logos, and 2 lavish, capable special editions. Available features include Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk®, a panoramic fixed glass roof, Continuous Damping Adaptive Ride Control, the ProGrade® Trailering System, 24” wheels… The list seems to never end.

The Pinnacle of Performance

What’s new for 2026 in the GMC Sierra EV on the performance side centers on the truck’s ability to deliver serious output. The 2-motor e4WD system powers all 4 wheels simultaneously, automatically adjusting to road conditions to give you traction when it matters most. In Max Power mode with the available Extended Range or Max Range Battery Pack, the Denali trim roars with up to 760 hp and 785 lbs.-ft. of torque.

The available 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk® is one of the more unique features on the Sierra EV. It allows the rear wheels to turn independently from the front wheels, which helps with maneuverability in tight spaces and enables the truck to move diagonally at low speeds—perfect for navigating jobsites, tight parking structures, and off-road terrain.

Connectivity Technology

One of the clearest answers to what’s new for 2026 in the GMC Sierra EV is the level of technology packed into this truck. The centerpiece is the 16.8” Premium GMC Infotainment System that runs on Google built-in with voice commands. Alongside the infotainment screen sits an 11” Driver Information Center, where you can monitor important vehicle data and access high-resolution maps. The available 14” multicolor Head-Up Display projects key information directly onto the windshield so your eyes can stay on the road.

Available Super Cruise® hands-free driver assistance technology allows you to go hands-free on a growing network of compatible roads for a safer, more comfortable long haul.

The Sierra EV also offers up to 14 available camera views, which makes maneuvering this full-size truck in tight situations considerably easier. OnStar® adds another layer of confidence with remote commands, Automatic Crash Response, and in-vehicle apps.

Range and Charging: Real-World Flexibility

Range anxiety is one of the most common concerns shoppers raise when considering an electric truck. The Sierra EV supports DC Fast Charging, which means the Max Range Battery Pack can add up to 120 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes. Range figures vary by trim and battery, with the standard battery delivering about 283 miles and the Max Range Battery Pack amping that up to a whopping 478 miles on a full charge.

At home, you can charge using a standard outlet or a professionally installed home charging station. The in-vehicle Energy App lets you monitor energy use, set charging schedules, and precondition the battery temperature. The available myGMC mobile app takes it further, allowing you to find public charging stations and pay for sessions in advance.

Smart Storage

The Sierra EV is innovative right down to its storage. The power-open eTrunk provides 11 cu. ft. of lockable, weatherproof storage under the hood for luggage, tools, and anything you don’t want cluttering your cabin.

The available MultiPro Midgate® is another standout feature. When used with the load stop function, folded rear seats, and removable back glass window, it provides a class-leading 10’ 10” of cargo length. For drivers who regularly haul long materials, that’s a significant advantage.

The standard 6-function MultiPro Tailgate also makes accessing, loading, and unloading the bed easier than a standard tailgate would allow.

Safety Features Designed Around Driver Confidence

A full-size electric truck needs to keep its occupants safe, and what’s new for 2026 in the GMC Sierra EV includes more than 16 standard safety and driver assistance features. These span a range of situations, from city intersections to highway driving to parking maneuvers.

Standard features include Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking and Side Bicyclist Alert. These technologies work in the background, helping you react to situations you may not immediately see. Combined with up to 14 available camera views, the Sierra EV surrounds you with tools designed to reduce stress and increase awareness.
